1. Its antipyretic effect may not be related to the effect of its main component calcium. Raw gypsum Decoction (15g / kg) had no antipyretic effect on rabbits with fever caused by injection of typhoid pentavalent vaccine; If the rabbits were given raw gypsum Decoction (15g / kg) by gavage, and then injected with typhoid pentavalent vaccine, the body temperature could not be significantly increased. Gypsum has a rapid antipyretic effect with a short maintenance time. For rabbits with fever caused by typhoid vaccine, the cooling effect of 5g / kg raw gypsum is similar to that of 0.2g/kg antipyrine. The body temperature drops significantly half an hour after taking the medicine, and the effect is strongest in 1-1.5 hours.
Baihu Decoction and single gypsum decoction have certain antipyretic effects on experimental febrile rabbits; There is no obvious antipyretic effect in Zhimu liquorice mixture and calcium removing Baihu Decoction without gypsum. It can be considered that gypsum is the main drug for the antipyretic effect of Baihu Decoction. The effect of gypsum can be enhanced by other drugs in the prescription, but it does not increase with the increase of gypsum dosage. The blood calcium level of the experimental animals before and after administration was measured, which showed that the elevated level of blood calcium was closely related to the antipyretic effect. It is reported that the antipyretic effect of gypsum combined with Anemarrhena asphodeloides is stronger than that of single use. The antipyretic component of Anemarrhena asphodeloides is mangiferin, and pure calcium sulfate is ineffective. Therefore, it is speculated that the antipyretic effect of gypsum is caused by components other than calcium sulfate. The experimental results showed that the antipyretic effect of Maxing Shigan Decoction and gypsum reuse (after being boiled, crushed and reused) was stronger than that of gypsum and gypsum reuse decoction.
It has also been reported that the supernatant of the 1:1 Decoction of raw gypsum and the supernatant plus raw gypsum powder have no obvious antipyretic effect on rabbits with fever caused by typhoid vaccine. Foreign experiments on experimental febrile rats have proved that gypsum has no obvious antipyretic effect by oral administration, subcutaneous injection or intravenous injection. However, when the "thirsty" state of animals is caused by prohibiting drinking water, endotoxin induced fever, diuretics, salt feeding and radiant heat, gypsum can reduce the amount of drinking water of rats and alleviate their "thirsty" state.
2. Effect on cardiovascular system: Gypsum extract has no effect on the heart of frog. Small dose of gypsum extract has an exciting effect on isolated toad heart and rabbit heart, while large dose has an inhibitory effect. The heart can return to normal after fluid exchange. When 0.1ml/kg of 4% gypsum supernatant was injected intravenously, it had no effect on the respiration, blood pressure and blood flow of rabbits and cats, but when more than 1ml / kg was injected, it showed respiratory depression, blood pressure decrease, blood flow decrease and heart rate slow. Intravenous injection of plaster solution 0.2ml/kg can reduce the blood flow of thigh artery of rabbits and cats for a time, then increase, and reduce the blood flow of coronary artery.
3. Effect on smooth muscle: small dose of gypsum supernatant increased the amplitude of isolated small intestine and uterus of rabbits, while large dose decreased the tension and amplitude. Gypsum can also increase the urine output of mice, slow down the intestinal propulsion function, and increase the bile excretion of rats and cats.
4. Other effects: after oral administration of gypsum, part of the gypsum will become soluble calcium salt through gastric acid, which can increase the concentration of calcium ions in the serum when absorbed into the intestine. It can inhibit the ability of nerve stress (including the temperature regulation function of the central nervous system), reduce the excitability of skeletal muscle, relieve muscle spasm, and reduce vascular permeability.
In vitro culture experiments, 1:1 gypsum Hanks solution can significantly enhance the phagocytic ability of rabbit alveolar macrophages to Staphylococcus aureus and colloidal gold, and promote the maturation of phagocytes. Ca + + can improve the capture rate of alveolar macrophages, enhance their phagocytic activity and accelerate their clearance of dust particles, which is of great significance in maintaining the physiological function of macrophages. Therefore, it can be considered that Ca + + plays an important role in the above functions of gypsum.
Long term feeding gypsum can increase the calcium content of pituitary gland, adrenal gland, submandibular gland, pancreas and thymus in rats. However, in rats with thyroidectomy and parathyroidism, the content of thymus calcium increased and the content of spleen decreased.
In the presence of ATP in the body, gypsum produces sulfur isotope fractionation through the action of enzymes and APG, which increases the blood drug concentration of 34S, thus playing an antiviral role.
